I have heard of dermal filler before but what the heck is Bio-Filler?

Check out our blog post on what the heck a bio-filler is

Dermal fillers are used to treat volume loss on the face typically associated with aging. Dermal fillers are used for cheek augmentation/volume, under eye volume, lips, jawline contouring, and to improve and fill the folds around the mouth, to name a few. Conventional fillers are made most often with hyaluronic acid, which is naturally occurring in our bodies, and some are made with other synthetic materials. Bio-filler is made from platelet rich plasma (PRP). That’s right! A dermal filler made from your own plasma!

How is bio-filler made?

Bio-filler can be made after drawing a patient’s blood and spinning it down in a centrifuge to obtain the platelet rich plasma. After the plasma is extracted there is a heating method that turns the PRP into PRF (platelet rich fibrin).

Why would I choose bio-filler?

Bio-filler is highly concentrated PRP. PRP is an organic and biodegradable substance, having the capacity to release important growth factors and other structural proteins over time, at high concentrations to aid in the regeneration of tissue. Wow!! A dermal filler made from your body that improves your skin over time!

Any downside?

The “fill” effect of bio-filler lasts 3-4 weeks but will continue to improve the tone, texture, increase collagen and increase elastin and hyaluronic acid formation for the next 6-12 months. It is made from your own body so there is less risk of complications.
