Stem cells – the key to anti-aging?

What is stem cell rejuvenation? Stem cell therapies. Stem cell benefits and risks.

Aging is inevitable, but is there a way soften the aging the process? Stem cell therapy is an effective way to age gracefully. Stem cells or natural biologic therapy can used for cosmetic, orthopedic or total body rejuvenation! And it works!

Natural biologic therapy or Stem cell therapy is an emerging new trend with promising outcomes.  Stem cells or natural biologics, which can be cellular or acellular products, are being used more and more for orthopedic, cosmetic, and total body health.

How does it work?

Natural biologics or stem cell therapy comes from the wharton’s jelly of umbilical cord blood.  The products are recovered from healthy, carefully screened, consenting mothers at the time of delivery.

It’s a common misconception that stem cells are the only component needed in regenerative medicine to kick-start the healing and regenerative process and the higher the cell count, the better. However, it is the patient’s own stem cells that do the work, not the stem cells contained in products….

These cells serve as a vehicle to deliver signaling molecules that wake up your internal production of healing factors. While we agree that cells are an important part of regenerative medicine, equally important, if not more important, are the “dream team” components of regenerative medicine, chemical messengers comprised of growth factors and cytokines, that enhance the body’s natural ability to heal and regenerate. In addition, collagens, proteins, hyaluronic acids, and peptides assist in harnessing the body’s power of true healing.

Are stem cells the only thing needed for regeneration?

Stem cells do provide a “homing” mechanism to wake up dormant stem cells in the body, but they are not the only important component to regeneration. The products that come from wharton’s jelly contain growth factors, cytokines, hyaluronic acid, cellular components, and extracellular vesicles which are higher in Wharton’s Jelly compared to other biologics. These components aid in strength, flexibility, cushioning, covering, compressibility, and response to friction in the body. It also plays a vital role in reducing inflammation.  They additionally contain proteins, amino acids, hyaluronic acid, collagens, elastin, cytokines, chemokines, carbohydrates all providing a platform for new tissue growth.  This article provides more information.

Where do stem cells come from?

Many companies are utilizing procedures that extract the patient’s own stem cells via adipose (belly fat) or bone marrow aspirate (a small plug of bone usually taken from the ilium (hip bone). These procedures are considered invasive, have a higher risk of infection and may cause additional pain to the patient. What many “stem cell” companies fail to mention is that your cells are as old as you are. As we age, the number of cells and the quality of our cells drastically diminish. With a decrease in cell quality, a person of advanced age will not heal and regenerate as a young child would.

Alternativley, using products like wharton’s jelly, that are derived from birth tissues, means the components in these products are at day one strength, increasing their effectiveness.

At Wave on Wave Health we use natural biologics from New Life Regenerative.

Where are natural biologics used in the body?

Natural biologics can be used in orthopedic procedures, cosmetic procedures and injected intravenously for total body rejuvenation.
